This weekend was busy but fun. Saturday we went to Carthay Circle at Disneyland’s California Adventure Park in celebration of our friend Jenny’s birthday. We had a blast! Carthay Circle is an old time restaurant inside of the park that pays homage to the Carthay Theater in Hollywood that originally premiered Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs in 1937. The place was absolutely beautiful and up to Disney standards! We had been to the bar before which is so fun and really makes you feel like you are having a cocktail during the Golden Age of Hollywood! I was having too much fun so I forgot to take quality photos of the atmosphere, but I did get some of my food.
Here is an online photo that I found of the main dining room…
I had the Pacific Ono Ceviche for my appetizer and it was AMAZE!
I have to mention our friend Darrell’s appetizer order because it was awesome, the Firecracker Duck Wings. VERY, VERY spicy but delicious!
For dinner, I ordered the Short Rib Raviolis Sauteed in Sage Brown Butter! Also delicious!
Hubby ordered the Quail.
It was a great experience and the waitress was really friendly and attentive, especially considering our Motley Crew! Happy Birthday Jenny! (yes, there was a Disney hat/ears requirement from the bday girl)
Yesterday was fun too. I got to spend time at the park with my sister, nephew and niece!
Go Dylan Go
After the park I went to see the new “Star Trek: Into Darkness” movie with my hubby. Overall it was very suspenseful and entertaining, but I had a few issues with the climax of the movie and the development of the villain. He was awesome and so I felt like they should have exploited that more. Anyway, Will thought it was great, so there you go.
Speaking of Will, I am so proud of him. He got his clothes ready last night for an early run this morning and was the inspiration for me to do the same. While he ran a 5K, I kept it basic and just did a mile. It has been 2 whole weeks since my last run (the OC Half) so the goal was to just get me out there again. I didn’t focus on time, just wanted to get the ball rolling again. Thank you to my husband for the motivation, especially so early!
6:15 AM…
1 mile for me!
I decided to reward myself with an iced coffee (obsessed!) and the new Egg White Delight from McDonald’s! It actually tastes better than the regular Egg McMuffin to me and it has less calories!
How was your weekend?
